About Us

Dr. Joseph Parker, a former high-school and college band director, retired from 41 years of waving his baton, but not from fiddling with the instruments he loves.

Newly relocated to the northwestern South Carolina area, Dr. Parker spends his days rescuing musical instruments (that would otherwise be discarded as trash) from repair shops and transforms them into quality floor or table lamps.

His wife Donna makes the shades by hand and the duo takes their wares to shows across South Carolina and the surrounding states.  “It's a hobby that's gotten out of hand,” laughs Dr. Parker from his home in Greer, South Carolina.

His most popular lamp features the clarinet, but the maestro has also rescued trumpets, violins, saxophones, flutes, and more.  For a more complete list, see our Custom Lamps page.
